We’re excited to share a fresh burst of creativity at the motel — thanks to the incredible work of local artist Ebrahim Tellayh.
This spring, Ebrahim Tellayh transformed our shipping container into a stunning work of art, adding a vibrant and unexpected touch of beauty to an everyday space. Inspired by the history of the 2400 Motel, the piece reflects the artist’s unique vision and love for the community.
As Ebrahim shared,
“ I believe it reflects the 2400 Motel’s history as a key stop for travelers in Vancouver during the 1950s and 60s, highlighting its connection to the road travel culture of the time. At the center is a girl’s face, with flowing hair representing the wind and movement, symbolizing the freedom and adventure of travel. Her presence captures the youthful optimism of the era while blending into the landscape, and with her hair flowing she becomes a timeless figure tying the past and present together while adding a personal, dynamic touch to the mural. It emphasizes the motel’s role in Vancouver’s history, with a focus on motion and connection.”
Supporting local art is part of our vision to make the motel more than just a place to stay. Whether you’re checking in or just passing by, this mural is a reason to stop and smile.
